Getting Started

Download

SQL Delta downloads are now full setup packages rather than the older DeltaConfig-only delivery. That gives you clearer product, edition, and architecture choices.

Choose your product

Start at https://sqldelta.com/products or the current downloads page and choose the SQL Delta or SQL DXP product you actually need.

Choose your edition and architecture

  • Full Edition: the standard product with normal comparison and synchronisation features.
  • Read-Only Edition: a separate installer family that keeps the comparison workflow available but prevents direct script execution.
  • 64-bit: best for normal 64-bit Windows environments and the default choice for most current machines.
  • 32-bit: use this on 32-bit Windows or for compatibility-focused environments.

Current Version 7 builds use Setup*.exe installers. Older Version 6-era downloads used DeltaConfig filenames, for example DeltaConfig-6.1.0.2044.exe, so you may still see DeltaConfig referenced in older documentation and archived downloads.

Install/Setup

Run the setup EXE you downloaded and follow the installer prompts. Each edition and architecture is delivered as its own installer, so choose the correct package before you start rather than expecting to switch between Full and Read-Only inside one setup.

The installer copies SQL Delta into the program folder, creates the project folder, configures sub folders and initial settings, and sets up the trial mechanism. If you later need to remove SQL Delta, use the uninstall option created by that installer.

Run and Trial

The first time SQL Delta runs the Trial Screen is shown giving you a 14 day evaluation period so you may evaluate the product and confirm it meets your needs.

Click Evaluate to start SQL Delta.

When you purchase a license a registration code is emailed to you and this code is used to remove the trial screen. The trial and full version are the same.

Project Manager

The first time SQL Delta starts two tabs will be displayed, the Project Manager and editing a New project. Complete the project details and click the Run button to start your first project.
